No spoilers from me...

What a fantastic example of a sporting tournament, played down to the last ball.

Well done to England & New Zealand for a fantastic, enthralling final.

Sip.

Because we got 15 Tilly and they had to get more than us.
Thanks, Dave. I get that now. :-)
Thank you Togo, I never realised that the runs counted after a run out. The TV is saying that the win was on the count back rather than the 1 wicket in the Super Over.
What a match - absolutely superb.

People who say that cricket is boring have obviously never been to a match.

Well done England.
Doesn't matter Zebo. On that deadly over we got a wicket for the same score. Moral victory without the bean counter interference anyway. You know what the "rule" makers are like. No regard for what is morally correct. (^_+)
Haven't watched Cricket for years but having a visitor here, we watched today and it was superb.
Brilliant! It was so exiting at the end. Silverstone win for Louis and then this. A great day!
Exactly, MWG......it’s not only the game but the whole atmosphere when sitting with a crowd of cricket supporters. Not another sport like it.
Yes but come on, it was really exceptional today. Really special. I'm still smiling and that doesn't happen very often:-(
It's a game I've tried to understand and have given up.

Having said which, watched one, many moons ago with my brother and England needed something like 8 runs to win with only 2 balls left, now that got me excited. (England won)

It's lovely to read you nutters wot like cricket enjoyed this match :-D

I was so tempted to post one LiK, but did not, so as not to tempt providential retribution. Good call. I am "over the moon" and "under the cosh" at one and the same time, still unbelievable. My phone is red hot with messages from my brothers(mostly unrepeatable on here) who despite being like myself, entirely realistic in their expectations, cannot yet get their heads around the last few minutes of the contest. One of them said it was a "nail biter" of a match and I txted back that it would be followed by a nose picking contest. Laugh, we still are.
I bite a pencil, not my nails. I'm so glad that we won but do feel so sorry for New Zealand. What a way to lose...

Shame on you Alba.(kidding) "She who must be obeyed" is more Welsh than Owain Glyndwr's undercrackers and has watched just about every game played. We did struggle a bit at first with Nominal Run Rate, and I would guarantee that she will watch the replay later when I have fallen into bed before I am run out.
Wonderful, really wonderful game! N.Z. didn't lose, England won - just, by a heartbeat. What a thrilling match! I really hope that a lot of youngsters were watching and got hooked.
Not a bad day for English cricket by any means.
TOGO, it's NET Run Rate, not Nominal Run Rate.

Indeed. But the game played today (and those played over the last month or so) was not remotely cricket.
May not be Test Cricket, NJ but it was bloody fantastic cricket that enthuses folk and gets our youngsters keen and interested.
Too right, gness, and great that it was on free-to-air terrestrial television - first time I've been able to watch live cricket on TV since 2005. Think of all the youngsters that will have watched and become enthused.
