Seems like more are now jumping on the bandwagon. Also players from other counties have said they have been victims in their own set ups.I can’t help but think this took a long time to surface and now pound signs are visible then counties could be on to a financial hiding.
Ynna-//On the news just now,Mr Rafiq is an anti-semite and Jew hater.//
I'm not sure if a tweet 11 years ago when he was still a teenager makes him a "Jew hater", but it certainly shows that he wasn't as pure as he believed.
'Azeem Rafiq has apologised for using anti-Semitic slurs in an exchange of messages with another cricketer.
Rafiq admitted sending messages more than a decade ago in which he joked about a Derbyshire player, Atif Sheikh, being reluctant to spend money on a meal out because “he is a jew”. '
all very unsavoury and I would think that most of us have used banter in the past - in a lighthearted way. If he really felt aggrieved why didn't he speak up more about it rather than let if fester.. the "I don't appreciate those sort of remarks, mate - they are sick and cruel, so I am asking you to stop now" - if he is genuinely a leader (and captain) then he should have behaved like one.
So whose more to blame youngmafbog- those using regular racist language whether as banter or to be cruel or rafiq forgot tackling it head on. Sound like your blaming the victim as much as the bullies??
