What a day. This morning we have had hail, snow, sleet, sunshine, then rain. All accompanied with a freezing cold wind. Sorted my punt and on handy. Need to nip out for an hour. Will be getting wrapped up. ITV7 with ****E/W Acca, win Doubles & Trebles. Plus a win Trixie⁕⁕⁕ Good chase at Haydock Ken, all National types.
Good luck if you have a go.

Corach Rambler @10/3 1.50Asc⁕

Caribean Boy @7/1 2.24Asc*
The Galloping Bear @4/1 2.40 Hay⁕
Tide Times @7/1 2.48Win*
Zacony Rebel @5/1 3.00Asc*

Done a daft little e/w double and singles on Emitom 2.05Hay, and Easyland 3.00Asc. 14/1 & 80/1. They are both in my stables of horses to watch out for with Sporting Life and I have had an email reminder. Imagine ignoring it and a 1215/1 double coming in.

Best of luck with those, Togo :-)

I, too, have to go out. Knife and fork job for grandson's 21st. We usually have our little family get-togethers at either The Prairie or Sycamore Farm (both in Burnley) - food's decent enough, prices very reasonable, and i can drink their draught bitter (John Smth's and Worthy). For some unfathomable reason, daughter has us booked in at a place called The New Waggoners on the edge of town. £22 for a mixed grill! £13 for a cheese and onion pie!! £4.50 for a bottle of Newcy Brown!!! Don't know what ale they pump - hoping for John Smiths, or i'll have to have a half dozen Newcys to wash down whatever i end up choosing:-( Gonna need a few winners today to replenish the old coffers.

2.40 Hay; Blaklion @ 9/1 - 4 places
3.00 Asc; Zacony Rebel @ 9/2 - 5 places
3.15 Hay; Small Present @ 9/2 - 4 places
4.10 Asc; Imphal @ 11/2 - 5 places

4 x £2 win singles, 20p L15, £1.50 e.w. acca. 4 placed = £27, 4 winners = £2,917.

Have done 4 x rev f/cs above 4 with; Sam Brown, Highway One O Two, Tokyo Getaway & Art Of Diplomacy.

Also Trixie/Treble; Doyen Breed, Fiddlerontheroof & Max Dynamo for poss £253.

Add Molly Olly's Wishes to above 6 for the ITV 7 and a £1 e.w. acca.

Free £5 bet on Dashel Drasher @ 6s.

Best of luck, all.

Absolute tosh as far as the nags were concerned but the meal was excellent. Had steak 'n' ale pie and you could really taste the ale within. Washed it down with half a dozen pints of Black Sheep - a quite nice, almost spicy bitter @ £3.50 a pint.
Sat next to the birthday boy who had the Burnley match on live stream on his phone. Nothing better than watching The Clarets win 3-0 away from home while being in the bosom of one's family, eating a good meal and downing a few good pints.
Hi Ken, glad you had a nice celebration.

You mentioned The Prairie pub earlier. Is that an ex-Bass (now M&B) pub? Seem to remember altering a pub by that name many moons ago (late 80s?).
I know it's from that town that you don't like, but can you still get a wonderful pint of Thwaites up your way these days? I was weaned on the stuff.
Nice one Ken. When they went 3 up I did wonder if you had an eye on the proceedings. Plus you were "gettin away with it" sitting next to the guest of honour. I was bleedin opeless with the gee gees too.
Not brilliant prices to say the least but yesterday's "mug's double" at Kelso was crying out to be done. Grey Skies and Ain't No Sunshine duly obliged and paid for today's not so successful football bet.

Captain, i honestly don't know the history of the Prairie pub. It is advertised as a 'Sizzling' pub? I do know that some time back, many pubs in Burnley sold Thwaites bitter. Given the number of pubs that have closed in the town, i honestly do not know whether Thwaites is still available in any of the ones left.
Togo, the 'guest of honour' actually was the last to enter the building and he chose to sit next to his dear grandad. Having said that, some of his friends were sat nearby, too:-)
Thanks Ken, I think it must be the pub I'm thinking of; 'Sizzlers' is a Brand within the M&B Pub Group.

Sorry about your (and Togo's) Gee Gees today.
