Do you like watching it? Dr Johnson said, "Sir, a woman's preaching is like a dog's walking on his hind legs. It is not done well; but you are surprised to find it done at all!"
Could this apply to football?

Don't please get me wrong, I think there are lots of sports women are good at & a pleasure to watch, golf, swimming, athletics.
It's probably me, but I fail to get excited about it.

Stand back & waits for onslaught.

I don't like football as a game, but OH is watching and enjoying the Ladies' tournament and I've been catching bits of it. He can't bear men's football these days, he used to like it about 30 years ago but says it has changed.
He thinks the women's matches are played in the right spirit and that they are very skillful. The bits I have seen were OK. I may even watch the final, but probably in between doing other things.
The only sport I can't bear to see women in is boxing.
Well that put the men to shame. Amazing what can happen with a good squad and a great manager (the men don’t have one).
I think it is fabulous. I'm not great sportsfan, but I will watch international tournaments. If I watch anything out of choice is is equestrian. Mr BM routinely watches women playing football, cricket, rugby etc. A good friend of mine was the first woman rugby referee.

I do not think that sport should be selective. I think that girls should be encouraged to participate in the sport of their choosing.

I have no idea how LGBT came into this thread since this is about women playing football - not their sexuality. In my view, the two are completely separate.
//I know men who are transitioning into women who are sexually attracted to women.//

Glad that I don't.
Im a man that is (naturally) sexually attracted to women without attempting to becoming one myself.
This really does smell of mental illness now...
Nailit, you were the one who equated women playing what are traditionally seen as men's sports to LGBT/rainbow.

That is a completely separate issue.

Years ago, it was considered wrong for women to ride anything other than side saddle. They now compete on an even playing field with men (and beat them too) in equestrianism.

Sexuality has nothing to do with women playing football.
//Sexuality has nothing to do with women playing football. //
never said it did.

Youre a barrister BM.
Re read......
Well why bring it into a thread concerning women's football?

I might as well just comment on the benefits of using proper jam sugar or pectin for all the relevance it has.
I didnt.
Others did. I just added to it.
Nailit, on Saturday at 19:20 you wrote the following which was the first mention of "Rainbow stuff" on this thread ...

> If you do find your own sex attractive, great! Not got a problem.
> Just dont force it on me.
> All this Rainbow stuff etc.
> I couldnt care less what you find attractive.
Just re-read this thread from the start.
There are some very embarrassing opinions being shared early doors. Hopefully those people will read tomorrows headlines and be a bit puzzled to why they are so out of touch with reality.
Gromit...I'd love to see the English just celebrate with joy something so good and happy making.
I watched todays match in a very crowded large pub with hundreds of other spectators. Men, women and children enjoying a great match with a twist at the end - England won!
No one said it was crap. No one said it was embarrassing. No one said it was freaky watching women kick a ball about.
The nation is rejoicing in a very rare England football victory, and the AB dinosaurs are only seeing the end of civilisation as though it is only a stray meteor away.
Most of us do Gness, but there are always some Richards who spoil this.
I'm sure some of it comes from the weird and outdated some men, and the odd woman, still have of women, Gromit.
Sounds like you had a great time. Isn't that good!

I'm glad most of you do, Mozz. The difference in our countries has always saddened me. I'm not English but it does hearten me when you get lot together and rejoice in something good!
This is what winning is all about…

Oh that's fantastic, Gromit! Hadn't seen it...thank you....yes....that's winning and celebrating with joy. Love it!
I'm just thrilled for them. They are a team of well disciplined players who actually did not not play their best tonight but they showed spirit and tactics and still won. The first goal was superb. They are also slightly nuts, which I love.
Very good Gromit - thanks for that happy link
Well done the ladies... thoroughly enjoyed watching them win, be honest SD you were the last fella picked in any line up weren't you :-)
