Has just announced on the BBC snooker coverage that he is going to take civil action against the orange powder 'Just Stop Oil' protestor and is inviting any of the 400 or so of the audience who were present when the action took place to join him at no expense but just to outline their travelling/hotel/ticket costs and turn it into a class action against Mr. Idiot.

As he said, sport needs to stand up on this one. Be warned, those who want to take similar action in London this weekend......

the issue - is this the right way - and the pragmatics of it?
Yes, well done to Barry Hearn, hopefully set an example to these attention-seeking wasters.
Yes definitely the right thing to do. Time these idiots learned they can't mess with people's lives without taking the consequences.
Good for him, it's about time somebody took a stance, the judiciary seem to be unable or unwilling to do so.

the woman who tried to glue herself to the other table is lucky that Hearn et al. isn't going after her as well....she comes from my home town, apparently. She used to be a museum professional, whatever that means....

This is in addition to the criminal case......
Good for him. I only really glanced at the footage but it's the same as happened at the National Gallery - it looked like officials just stand there and watch it happen. How do they even get in with this stuff?
great news!
From the BBc

Just Stop Oil says it will "continue disrupting cultural and sporting events" amid concerns protestors will target the London Marathon on Sunday.

London Marathon race director Hugh Brasher said that he has received "unique" assurances from Extinction Rebellion over their planned protest.

But, in an interview with the BBC, a Just Stop Oil spokesperson would not rule out disrupting the event.
A welcome development.

The problem is that Mr Idiot has no money. He survives on "crowdfunding" where other idiots pay him to faff about instead of getting a job. Although a civil action may succeed I don't see what a court could order in the way of reparation.
Hopefully these morons are stupid enough to disrupt a UFC event.
