Strange post i admit.
What do Abers think about the use of umbrellas by members of the public in our recent inclement weather? My wife would never carry one out in the rain. She wouldn't wear a hat or a hood. Today she attended a Caribbean festival in our local rec. Sadly it was partly rained off and she sheltered in a few gazebos which were crowded.. When she ventured out her hair was caught by the spokes of umbrellas of persons passing by who had no concern for others at least five times. . She is well accustomed to eye injuries in the past by patients who attended the eye clinic in out patients where she used to work. Do you use an umbrella in the rain and consider the safety of others when passing them? Belgium it would appear is the rain capital of Europe and on the several visits to Bruges I have noticed brolly stands in every shop at the entrance and exit . Woe betide you try to walk on the pavement in the rain. You are most likely to lose an eye unless you step off the pavement and risk a car hitting you.
Do you think brolly users are thoughtless and inconsiderate towards others particularly with massive golf umbrellas on the pavement.?

A bit like some idiots (usually fat females of all ages) stand in groups on the pavement and block your passage, and some motorists think it's fun to cut in front of you on your bike or to race you to squeeze through narrow gaps between parked cars on both sides while you are pedalling hard trying to maintain a bit of momentum on an uphill street. I always lift my umbrella for passers-by.
As a past Aber used to say constantly. it's a moot point'.
Who is expected to give way on a pavement when confronted by a large golf umbrella approaching them. It would be courteous for the brolly holder to raise their brolly or step out of the way as Atheist suggested. Who is liable if a serious eye injury is caused by selfish and inconsiderate behaviour of brolly user who does not consider the safety of others I wonder
