It's high time this activity (which masquerades under the name of sport) was banned.

So many tragic cases in the past, and now one more.

I've always liked the suggestion of banning boxing gloves. You're much less likely to bash someone's brains in if you know you'll break your own knuckles in the process.

Ban it and it goes underground.

jno is correct, boxing gloves made boxing dangerous. The old bare knuckle fighters tended to work the body.

They participate knowing the risks.

Stop banning stuff just to try saving people from themselves. They know the risks,  let them get on with it.

If people want to risk becoming a vegetable or wish to make someone else become a vegetable that's their choice.

Those that join this so called sport do so freely.

It's their choice.

I find it fascinating that some people find it interesting to watch two people knock six-bells out of each other.

LOL.

A bit of padding saved a lot of head injuries.

I like it. (watching)

#Me Too

I can't bear to watch boxing, especially the bigger men bashing each other up. But I don't think it should be banned. I hope the lad in the OP doesn't fight again.

//especially the bigger men bashing each other up//

But the smaller ones Clover?

For some it's a primal passage to breed. Only the Alpha males, etc.

I hate it.

I'm always baffled by these boxing gyms that people say are good for young people. Teaches them discipline etc. Really? Learning how to bash someone brains out?

I've seen a few of those MMA bouts on Fight Night and I'm convinced that if the referee didn't stop the fight, then the beating would continue until the opponent was dead. On occasion, the fighter is flat out cold, but the opponent still goes in and beats the hell out of them whilst they are defenceless, not resisiting, and the referee allows it for a few blows. But that's sports entertainment for you folks! Enjoy!

You found it entertaining enough to watch 'a few' 10C. Just sayin'🙄

_______

Yes...really.

Yes, really. Nothing changes. The comments don't change what's happening, do they?

Boxing, Karate, Judo, Wrestling, UFC, etc. does teach  some people discipline.

If they want to win they need to control their anger, then release it in a controlled way.

Works for some,,
