Does anyone know how Emile Heskey continues to get picked for these important England matches when he can't even command a full time slot in the Aston Villa team? The Villa playes Ashly Young and Gabby Agbonlahor who I thought had a chance of selection have been completely ignored.
Heskey is a big physical presence up front, can hold on to the ball and wait for supporting players to arrive. He is very one-dimensional, but he does that job very well. A good option if Capello wants to play with one up front. Only Zamora compares, but although he's playing well, is carrying an injury. Heskey has to be considered.
Woody if we play one up front it better be Rooney not Heskey.
Some of the best results we have had over the last few years have been with Heskey playing and some of the worst when he hasn't, look it up, start at about Germany 1 England 5 and move forward.
