I know this is going to sound a bit stupid but how do you actually learn to do a backflip? Is it not quite dangerous? I really want to do multiple backflips in a row but .. i mean do you just try and one day it comes or what?!
How I taught myself how to do them...I'd bend backwards like I was going to do a backwards walkover. Just before my hands touched the floor I'd jump into it. Gradually I got higher and higher until I could do them. So it's practice...time...and nerves.
For speed it's easier to run, do an arab spring and then into a back flip..
I learnt years ago at school, they put a waist belt on and a swivel lead on both sides to support your weight, practised on the trampoline first. Mind you I couldnt do a back flip now!
