Hi
On 15 March you told me what to do and it worked by dragging the pages down.

However, it has happened again (don't know why. I dropped my mouse and they all went like it)

It does does not happen on pages such as my docs, control panel etc which do not reqire me to go online - it happens on ALL others when I go into Explorer.

Have tried exactly what you said before, but after I have dragged the edges and then clicked the little x in the r/h corner to get out of the page, when I then go into it again (or any others ) and the page just appears at the top of the screen about 3" in depth.

Any oyher ideas please?

Thanks a lot

When you click the little X in the corner make sure you close every other IE window you have open at that time (restart the computer if necessary). If you have left any IE windows open it won't remember the size for the next one.

I have done that, but what is happening now is different. The sites all come up initially in full screen -great!, but then when I click the x to close there is always a 'smaller' not full screen version of the same screen underneath which I then have to click to remove

Not sure why you should be getting multiple pages open. But IE will remember the size of the last page that you close. So if you open a page, drag it to the correct size, close it, then find a smaller one underneath, you need to drag that to the correct size before you close it.
If you turned on tabbed browsing you'd only have one copy of IE to worry about as all the other sites would open on different tabs in the same browser window

Thanks Rojash and Methyl
Have done exactly what you both said and although the pages are larger, they are still not full screen!
As the laptop is nearly new I took it into PC world for the TechGuys to advise. They said that what I have been told is correct and should work, but they cannot get it to work either! So it is going in later this week for them to investigatemore fully.
Will keep you informed.
Thanks again

Hi again Rojash and everyone. Well, as I could not get the pages maximised despite all your sugggestions I took my laptop back to PC world as it was only a couple of months old. They had had same problem and could not help - suggesting I maximise each page if necessary!
Now further investigation shows that loads of people have had this problem and it is associated with the Windows 7 software not working properly with IE8 which I have installed. They suggested I use Chrome or Firefox and it works ok with them, however I prefer IE8.

I then noticed that I should download Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 (I found this by luck going into Windows updates and it was classed AS IMPORTANT and took ages as it was a large mb file. Eventually it downloaded and low and behold my pages now maximise automatically!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions
