Hi, please can either of you help. My computer is slowing down. Also, sometimes my mouse won't let me enter texts into text boxes , i.e. on fb. I have to click several times before it will allow me to type a txt. I have changed the batteries, but to no avail. My ratter thinks it may be that I have some processes that are disrupting things. What was also strange this morning was that under "processes" his system showed 245, while mine showed 148,576.
Here is the listing of my processes this morning. Could you please check them and tell me if you think something is going wrong?

1. Check Live Messenger. Do you have it set to load with Windows? Switch off if poss in settings.
2.That Curse client is unnecessarily running .. a nuiscance. Open Curse software and see if it can be enabled .. or remove it! Games installed on PC? This is a vulnerability!
3.. Updatechecker can be malicious .. Have a look to see if FileHippo is installed .. If so, remove it. Update checker NOT required.
4. Seaport is a Windows enhancement pretty useless process also not required. You have to disable in processes. More on that later.
5. Suitest is Lotus background app .. also not required running when not using Lotus. Look in the program .. or click on, or r/click icon and look for ways of removing at startup first.

6. You have Epsom all-in-one? or printer?
If you need interactive service for the printer (ink level reporting, etc,) leave alone. If not find entry in Programs/Startup folder or MSConfig .. and disable. More on MSConfig later.

7. ATI Graphics and Catalyst control centre.
Open the Catalyst Control Center and disable Sytem Tray icon in Options/Preferences/System Tray Menu. Un-needed in System tray or running all time (In fact CC Center does not have to be installed at all .. just the drivers)

8. TBH .. Win Patrol .. (scotty dog in Sys tray?) causes more troble than it fixes! Remove the program!

9. I have found Java Quick Start to be not much good for home web browsing.
I always disable it ... Open Java in Control Panel .. Advanced tab/Misc. uncheck 'place java icon in tray'

10. You have Epsom Creativity Suite .. Use it? If not remove it .. or look for entry in its program .. OR Start Menu/Programs/startup, or in MSConfig (more on that later)

11. Rapport service is for protecting comms between banks and clients/customers .. using it? Maybe .. If not, remove. Try add/remove.

In the interim .. please download this .. and install it ..
Start the Program after and click on Do A System Scan and Save A logfile.
Save the logfile it creates for now. Close Program. Don't fiddle with removing stuff .. you can do damage with it!!

Load it up and let it update.

12. Nero INCD ... Use packet writing to Rw discs? If so, no problem. If not remove it. This is only for packet-writing .. It will not stop you writing to CD-R wih another application.

13. Apple Mobile (ITunes) I take it you use it?! If so leave alone all Apple services.
