my slidey thing has stopped working :o(
the scroll thingie on my touchpad thingie has stopped working, and now I have to drag pages up and down from the scroll thingie on the rhs of the page.
it was working earlier this morning. I've done my usual piece of technical wizardry (re-booted.. 3 times, no less) and it's still not playing.
any ideas, please?

I'm not on my laptop at the moment (BTW it's XP), but as I recall, the 'Mouse' option in Control Panel displays the Touchpad options. There's a tab called 'Device' or similar which shows a number of settings which include a horizontal and a vertical scrolling option with a check box against each. I uncheck both and press 'Apply' and then check them again and press 'Apply'
If your options are '1' or '2', try changing them and 'Apply' and then put them back to what they were and 'Apply'.
I'm only a novice, I arrived at this by trial and error. If it doesn't work you will need to wait until one of the experts in this section picks up your post. Have a nice evening :-)
