I have a problem with my all-in-one PC and rang the Samsung support team.
They took the details, asked me to email proof of purchase to them, and then ring back in 3 hours and they will make arrangements for an engineer to call.
I've just rung them back, been told this is wrong, and in fact they will ring me within 48 hours to make arrangements to pick the PC and take it to one of their service centres.
What am I supposed to do ?
I have mobility problems and rely totally on my PC for all my banking, and grocery shopping (they won't say how long they'll need to keep the PC)

In the deepest darkest recesses of my mind, I think there is some type of law to protect those with mobility problems, amongst others.
What you have described seems so wrong IMO.
Have you told them of your mobility problem? Contact your trading standards in the morning.

I want to know what I can say to them when they ring me back, for instance can I insist on a loan PC?
In the interest of good customer relations, I think they should at least offer a loan pc, especially as they cannot say how long you'd be without one.You could always suggest to them that you could get a local PC Specialist to investigate the problems and send them the bill.

I don't think they do that alba as it's still under warranty.
I'm a little confused. The problem is that you don't know how long the PC is going to be away for ?

They won't say how long it will take, possibly because the cause of the problem is not known, but if it is usable now they ought to be able to give an estimate on how long it will take to examine it. You can then decide whether you need it returned, or to go ahead with the fix.

They are going to pick it up so that is a help. Groceries and banking could be done just prior to them picking the PC up.

Maybe they could leave a courtesy PC for the duration, especially if it is going to be more than a few days ? It's worth asking given your circumstances.

I don't have a warranty boxy..........I bought the PC online and it arrived without a single scrap of paperwork.
I don't have experience of returning PCs but I'd have thought they should be able to fix or replace within a week. Especially if they do their own deliveries.
Blag them.

Insist that the only reason you purchased a Samsung was because you were promised it was an on site warranty and on checking samsungs website you see that IT equipment is covered by on site warranty.

it does also say Pick up & swap, not pick up take away for repair, so if you don't mind a replacement you could also try insisting if it's pick up you won't accept a repair and demand a replacement.

I've found a lot of places give in if pushed enough.

oooh thanks Chuck..............mine does actually come under the Pick Up and Swap as it is not one of the models listed.
