Laptop Memory Upgrade
3 Answers
I have an Emachine 5118 Laptop with 256mb 200pin SODIMM PC2100 memory
What does the PC2100 mean, if I look on Dabs.com for memory, they have 512mb PC2100 and 1Gb PC2100
BUT - They also have the 512mb PC2700 and 1Gb PC2700
Do I need to stay with the PC2100 range or does it not matter?
Thanks in Advance

If you install some PC2700 memory, your computer will use it as PC2100 memory if that's as fast as your motherboard will allow. In your case, it's more important to make sure it's the SODIMM type that'll fit your laptop and not the regular PC stuff that won't.
