Has Anyone Else Given Up On Firefox?
53 Answers
Afternoon,
I used to quite like Firefox. But with the recent caching issues we've been having, and it's new found ability to grind to a halt and steal ALL available memory I'm at a point where I am seriously considering uninstalling it entirely. If it wasn't for the 15% of you who use it on here, I would!
Recently the problems have got really bad with me closing a tab and the label and tab disappearing, but the space where it was remaining. I have a gap-toothed Firefox.
Anyone else want to moan about FF?
Chrome has its issues, but it does have this advantage: https:/ /chrome .google ...cnho eaanfpk fachlfc lli

I can deal with FF on here, but on Deviant Art it persistently insists I don't have the latest FF ( which I do) and refuses to let me do anything. I have to use Chrome on that, which since it's a site I'm quite frequently on ticks me off a bit. I'm hoping they sort it out quickly because I only have so much patience however good it's been in the past.

As I'm typing my curser keeps moving it to either a different part of the answer box so I'm typing over parts I'd written before or it's jumping to a different part of the screen all together.
I thought it might just be me at first as I haven't used this keyboard for a week or so but I've just typed out a huge e-mail in Outlook and it didn't happen once so it must be FF.
It's happened 4 times since I started writing this post so if you find random words in the middle of any of my sentences, blame FF.
I could put up with having to refresh the page for answers to appear but this is really bloody irritating.

"and it seems to enable and disable add-ons at will."
Yep! Who are you to choose what you want in your Firefox? Don't you know that it knows better than you?!
Someone round here recommends Waterfox on Win7. I must say that it's very nice, simple and stripped back - but I'm still using ie9 on Win7 as my primary browser. Sadly, when constricted to XP, as I am here, I can't put up with IE8!

Surely you can just check the user agent string users are reporting when they post? :)
I have at home, I've gone over to chrome, I'm still using FF at work simply because it's got loads of passwords saves and I can't be bothered to re-enter them all.
(actually, do you keep figures of browsers being used?)

If you don't want your add-ons being disabled because FF decides that they are not longer compatible then use https:/ /addons .mozill ...n/ch eckcomp atibili ty/ - n.b. whilst most will carry on working ok some might fail because they really are incompatible.
