I've recently come by a new printer HP Deskjet 1050 and am trying to work out how to type an address to print on an envelope. I've found how to insert an envelope into the printer, 'standing end-on' and with the flap to the left'. What I'm looking for is how do I actually type the address so that it is likewise 'end-on' to fit on the envelope. Does it have to be rotated in some way? Advice appreciated.
Open a new Word document (if you have word). Make the page set up same size as your envelope. Type your address where you want it to be on the page and print. If it comes out wrong way round, change orientation in print set up. Try that.
Thank you for your help. I've tested and at least an envelope has come out with the address printed the right way round, although not in the middle. I'm getting there slowly and now have to discover how to adjust the size and position of the print.
I have an HP printer and at one time I used to have a lot of trouble with the printer scrunching the DL size envelopes up instead of printing them.
This was cured by 1. tucking the envelope flap inside the envelope, and 2. inserting a thin piece of flexible celluloid (about 3" x 3") inside the leading edge of the envelope in order to strengthen it.
It always prints them properly now.
