Just had a new monitor but my PC cannot get to the reccommended resolution
is this down to the graphics card not large enough

On Windows 7 if you go to 'Control Panel > Display > Screen Resolution' then click 'detect' it will identify your new monitor and possibly give you a new list of resolutions to choose from.
If this doesn't solve the problem then it is your graphics card at fault.

Further info I updated the drivers for the monitor and the recommended resolution was added to the list,but when i clicked it it was at 60Hz but it moved to a lower resolution and 30Hz ??? Next step i am changing the monitor cable from Vga to Dvi and the the graphics card Any more advice on this would be of help
