Hotmail Junk Folder

Because I was receiving a lot of unsolicited emails I set the filters so that my inbox only accepts emails from my contact list - the rest goes to my junk folder. I always check that there aren't any regular emails lurking in the junk folder before I empty it but I have noticed that the first email automatically opens!! Is there any way that I could prevent this??
