Computer's Really Slow Unless In Safe Mode

Hi all I'm using my Laptop which runs on Windows 7, everything's usually reliable with a few hiccups because I like to venture into the dangerous side of the internet but it never leaves with anything I can't handle.
Or at least I thought so up until now.

Whenever I go to use my laptop, I have about 30 seconds of clarity to fool me into thinking "Yay it's working again" but then everything slows down
Applications don't run, though one time I got my malware scanner started and it did a scan whilst the computer was in this crash mode. I can't browse my files because it's SO slow, doing the most basic functions will basically crash it and the internet's definitely not possible so I have to turn it off.

So I run it using Safe Mode and everything runs fine, my first thought is that I have a virus, so I scanned using MalwareBytes, Spybot, Microsoft Security Essentials and then I used my CC-cleaner. I deleted everything in my Temp folder, removed everything then quarantined from earlier dates as my current scans didn't find anything harmful, deleted everything recently downloaded and uninstalled anything recent, with no change I did a System Restore to 2 days ago when everything was working (If there's any connection this is also the day my internet router messed up badly for the night - Stupid Sky) and then did the scans again, nothing.

It's as though the computer thinks everything is fine, when it really isn't Having to stick to Safe Mode is terribly limiting.

Have you tried opening up "task manager" to see where your laptop's resources are being used ??

Usually I should be able to see list of running applications, not processes. this is different

The tabs have been minimised on your task manager. Double click on the grey part (I think) and the tabs should re-appear. Then you can click on the other tabs to see what's going on.

Well I have 30 Processes running as illustrated before, the CPU usage is anything from 0% to 20%, Physical Memory is staying at arounf 45%

I switch to Performance Tab and here are the stats:

However I don't think any of that means the computer is acting out of the ordinary.
This could be because it's in safe mode.

If I exit safe mode just pressing Ctrl, Alt, Delete sends it mad, it loads for about 10 minutes before either quitting, crashing, or making everything disappear from the desktop so I'm left with just my wallpaper, once again, this is the point where I turn it off, enter Safe Mode, and have a good moan

I thought you might have a lot of background programmes running, maxing out the CPU, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
It could poss be some kind of virus, but you're gonna have to wait for the more technical savvy people on here, as I'm stumped now soz :(

Just thinking about it - are these stats when it's running in safe mode ??
If so, you need to try and open the task manager in normal mode and then see what it comes up with.

Having a single program taking up 850Mb of memory isn't going to help! (Take a look at the Firefox entry in your screenshot). Try clearing the Firefox cache. (Tools > Options > Security > Clear All Current History).

What make /model laptop? How much memory fitted?

Possible you have too many processes trying to 'start up' on initial boot. In 'search' box type msconfig and when msconfig.exe appears run it.

Under the services tab put a tick in Hide all Microsoft services. Try and remove ticks from some of the items that don't need to start, doing the same under the startup tab. Then click apply and ok. You will need to restart your computer to enable the changes.

Did the changes make any difference?
You could disable the Skype updater and Google update as well. They would start up anyway when you started to use them.

There is no change, I'm backing up all my important stuff because it looks like the only solution that's worked for other people could be a factory reset?
I don't know how to do that, and I sure as hell better keep my operating system because I'm not paying for Windows 7 again haha

@birdie1971 I'll try out that program, I have a virtual disc player that can run ISOs so it should work pretty quickly

The ISO image needs to be burnt to a CD/DVD disc and used as a boot disc. ie, before windows 7 loads.

Here Are Some Of The Reasons For Computer Slowing Down:-
~Background services is activated.
~Low RAM.
~Installed Programs or Games that is not compatible with your computer.
~Infected by Virus/Malware.

Possible Solutions To Speed Up PC Performance Would Be:-
~Upgrade your RAM.
~Disable background services.
~Uninstall unnecessary programs and files.
~Get System Optimizer like am using RegInOut.
~Install a good antivirus.
