Sound Control
I have a website with oldtimes songs and automatic background sound (Windows Media Player). Every time I click to change from one item to another the sound shuts down and I have to open volume control to recover it. Can anyone tell me please why this happens and how can I prevent it. http.ww w.skeef .freese rve.co. uk/oldt imes

However I don't get any sound at all with Firefox 23.0.01 (which uses the default setting of using the Quicktime Plug-in to play Midi files, rather than using WMP).

I've just tried Chris's link. Works fine but no sound (on Chrome).
I can get it to play from within the code, but have to call the Quicktime plug-in to do so.
The coding looks quite antiquated by today's standards, Coldi. There are better ways of picking up sound files now. It may be well worth having the site re-written at some time.

I only had sound in IE10, in which it works fine.
No sound in Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera or Safari
The link below offers some help but it does start with the words:
"Playing audio in HTML is not easy!
You must know a lot of tricks to make sure your audio files will play in all browsers (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera) and on all hardware (PC, Mac , iPad, iPhone)."

Many thanks for all your helpful answers. Systems seem to be so variable these days I am obviously out of date and need to do some catching up. Thank you Buenchico for pointing out my omission - silly oversight. I'll
re-write it here just to see what happens. http:// www.ske ef.free serve.c o.uk/ol dtimes/
