video from dv camcorder

I am attempting to capture video from my jvc gr-d93 camcorder through a pcmcia card in my laptop (dv connection) xp acknowledges the v camera but when i try to capture in adobe premiere I get no output; similiarly in ulead video studio 8 there is no visible output on screen and after about a minute a message comes up saying that the video captured is corrupt and will be deleted. What should I do?
