How Does A Mac 'find' The Printer?
7 Answers
I have an Apple Mac and a love hate relationship!
I have just bought an OKI wireless printer and spent all day setting it up and it worked perfectly. Then last night before going to bed I wanted to show my wife how well it all worked. I switched on the printer and woke the Mac and had made a colourful picture to print. The three lights were on the Netgear and the message from Mac was 'cannot find the printer' Please anyone what do I do? I cannot face going through the whole rigmarole again. The old pc was always fathomable but I think Jobs strikes back yet again.

If I have to unplug it or we get a power cut sometimes it doesn't "find" the mac again and I have to set it up again. The other thing that messes with it is metal. I stored a big pile of foiled card for crafting on the shelf above it and it blanked it completely, moved the card and all is fine.
Have you managed to sort it yet bb? I can't help except to say that once I set up my HP Photosmart 5510 up then my Mac found it every time after that. And I always switch the printer off after I've used it. I can't understand why it took you so long to set yours up, mine took about 20 minutes. I hope yours is now working.
