Avast Blocking My External Hard Drive

My Avast demanded to be updated yesterday, so I did. Now when I plug my external hard drive in (a little Maxell portable) nothing comes up and I can't back things up. I assume these two events are connected as there was no trouble till today.

Is there any way to tell Avast to permit it? Or of restoring the earlier Avast? (Though I assume the latter would be risky.)

(Please don't advise installing MSE instead as I had the same trouble with it in the past; that's why I installed Avast in the first place.)

Morning all from a gloomy, wet and very cold Derbyshire. It had the nerve to snow yesterday, tut, anyone would think it's almost Christmas. Thankfully it wasn't much here and didn't stay long. It's sent the itis-ometer sky high :/

I have the strangest dreams. Last night I was a detective and had two hours to solve a crime...a very expensive stolen speed boat. I was working under cover in a big hotel, trying to weed out the guilty party. Time was running out when I looked through a window into the hotel next door, noted the unusual wooden floor and sent someone to start lifting it up. Voila! One hidden boat...job done...and I got to have a fling with a young handsome man. I think I'll submit my script to the beeb now that George Gently's finished. :)

Oh shaney, I hope you're feeling better, falling shakes you up and bruises take ages to heal when you're over...erm....50. I do my utmost to be careful, my family are as worried about me falling as I am...don't think they want me moving in with them while I recover.
If I feel dizzy and I'm going in the garden I use the sweeping brush as a stabiliser :)
I thought Flaminal was a book by Ricky Gervaise, haha.

Evening all, Im not bobbing my knees! Id get stuck!

We went to this new smoke factory american diner type restaurant for lunch but first they cohkdnt find the key tomthe gate to let us in ( not allowred in staff entrance) we returned half an hour later and were shown to a nice table and presented with the menu card. We had both decided previously what we would eat amd were salivating at the thought. The menu said Roasts on Sunday and nothing else! We were gutted. We dont do roast dinners out, only at home occasionally. So we drove to Ibiza town and ate montaditos which are tiny little bread rolls with delicious fillings, chips, nachos, wings and beer. I got cold sitting there, so was glad to come home to a hot bath, fire and telly.
Just had an instant swirl of syrup porridge, yummy.

Yes, I heard about Harry and Meghan this morning. We could do with an ott royal wedding to brighten up the news programmes but then there'll be the moaners I suppose....money wasted...etc...

Afternoon all. Lovely warm sunny day here. Bought two ridiculous unnecessary glas xmas ornaments, one playes carols and not well so I had to silence it. Half decorated the house. Done the outside red and gold tree and wild cats are really enjoying it. Fed up already. Cant find my Swiss village anywhere, and I love the lit up cottages. Have to buy a wad of cotton wool for the snow.
Cant wait to go to Dubai.

Freezing here.That's good news Jno.I expect it's a weight off and he can move on now to happier things.
And ,a royal wedding to look forward to,Harry to marry.They seem head over heels with each other.Lovely ring too.
All we need now is for them to cancel brexit,send Trump to a desert island where there are no tweeting facilities,make sure everyone is fed and housed.Get rid of despots and warmongers and all's fairly well with the world :)
Nothing much doing here .Went and had my wig tidied up , did our German Deli Christmas order and that's all the excitement for today.

Found my xmas village under my bed all safely packed away. Decs just dont look right this year.

Good afternoon...it was bright until about 2pm, then it went dreary but we finished off with a lovely winter fire sunset.
My bed isn't on legs, just castors, so no room to stuff anything underneath except wads of cash.

am doing a joy dance here...its a bit weird but bear with me.....When my mother died, I took the family archive. I didn't want it but someone needed to. Anyway my adult niece and nephew have expressed an interest so i asked them if they wanted it and they said YES!!!! Thats two large boxes and two A3 art folios (for storing stuff like birth certs flat) going out the door and they are GRATEFUL!

I bumped as I thought it ould make my latesr post appear. It didnt.
Mr N made our bedbase as we like a solid wooden one. Cant buy divans here. Lots of space for storage!!!!

Raining all day here and chilly. Have my snow village up now and the Belen (creche). Put a lamb stew on slow cooker so no worries about dinner. Ive been gilding thre lily and daubing and sprinkling glitter on xmas ornaments.
Next Wednesday im have false acrylic nails done for free as they want to photograph them to graduate college. Suits me. She knows i have old hands.
