I spent ages searching for a new printer last year and, like you Jaimsieboy, I was particularly seeking one without a scanner. However I eventually realised that the (very) few printers available which aren't 'all-in-one' actually cost more than those with features which I didn't really need. (Further, the inks for them tended to be considerably more expensive). So I ended up buying a printer with a scanner anyway, simply to save money!
Further, I'm at a loss as to why you're seeking an Epson printer just because you had one before. You've previously told us that you particularly want a quiet printer and it's been pointed out to you that the Canon Pixma range offers the quietest inkjets available.
