sorry just re-read the question - i use a different clean-up program at system start-up and don't find any problems doing that

in principle i don't see a problem - the one i use is Moo0 http://www.moo0.com/?top=http://www.moo0.com/software/DiskCleaner/ which i find is the quickest of the many that i've tried over the years

Bernie, I've used Ccleaner for years. I only run it when I want to.
No matter... you can certainly set it to run at boot-up, it may simply slow your boot rather a lot.

I have also used it for years, I just run mine as and when I need it.

I'm less keen of things using up resources if I don't need to operate them. I don't see the point really: but if you wish to have it on at boot up, well fine.
