Fan Problem On Ubuntu
1 Answers
Hi all,
have an acer 5315, loaded ubuntu, seemed to work o.k. as the laptop was not used very much, but now when i do something like watch youtube, 3 minutes and shut down. overheating. the fan is not revving up ( new fan, turning fine runs at slow speed all the time) and after going onto the ubuntu web site forum it seems the 5315 fan was controlled by the installed windows vista, not from the bios etc.??? so, as ubuntu didn't intall commands for the fan it will not speed up to cool the processor. i am not technical, but question is: I am told vista was installed to a part of the machine rather from a disc, so, can I get back to vista and reload from the machine somewhere??? or is it curtains??
