Epson Printer Xp-315

I have 2 niggles at the moment and although I have searched through the 157 page user guide ( Not every word ) I have not found a solution.
Firstly a 6x4 photo borderless print has an unsightly white strip down 1 side? Printing with a border prints with uneven borders.
The other problem is that when I turn on the computer ( windows 8.1 ) I get the message " could not reconnect all network drive " which relates to " memory card (1\\Epson be4a90(Z)".
Any advice would be welcome

Re print problem:
Either the paper isn't lined up or the print head isn't. Check that the paper is properly loaded (with the guides really tight to the edges of the paper) or run the print head alignment utility.

Thank you Buenchico I have carried out a realignment, we shall test that out in due course. I have not got a high enough version of windows to carry out the other recommendation although it does give instructions for downloading same. It looks alarming and I think it is beyond my capabilities. If I pluck up courage I may give it a go. I have printed off a copy in case. Thanks for the input.
