If you've
only done that, you've left yourself with no anti-virus protection. (Malwarebyes Anti-Malware protects you against malware, which gets round almost all security suites, but it's not an anti-virus program). Consider installing Avast as well:

You've not told us which browser you're using but I'll assume that it's the (totally dire) Internet Explorer. (Why? Why? Why?). It's unlikely that you're connecting via a local area network (LAN) so I wouldn't expect the LAN settings to be relevant. However simply clicking on anything relevant and ensuring that 'No proxy' is selected wherever you have a relevant choice might fix your problem.
Alternatively, download the installation file for Firefox to the computer you're using to post here on AB:

Transfer it (via a USB pen drive or similar) to your laptop and install it. Then see if you can access the internet with Firefox. If you can't, go to Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Settings and check that 'No proxy' is selected.
