Ipad Apps No Sound

Have downloaded couple childrens ipad apps but despite my sound on ipad being on, and sound option on app being on, there is no sound. I hav tried deleting and reinstaling, but no joy. Am i missing something obvious?!

checkthat you do not have your Do not disturb on . You will see a quarter moon sign if it is on .

Make sure the switch just above the volume control on the side of the iPad is switched up. Also check in Settings, General, lock rotation is ticked and not mute.

Thank you both, looks like i had knocked the switch above the volume to mute...well a little pair if hands had anyway! :-)
