Pc Speakers Suddenly Stopped Working
Hi, I was watching BBC iPlayer and suddenly, without any warning whatsoever, my PC's external (audio jack) speaker system went dead. The power light is still on, so it's not a fuse. I've run an audio troubleshoot diagnostic on my PC but it says it can't find a fault. I can plug my headphones into the front socket and there is sound alright, but nothing will come out of my Creative Audio set. My PC is an AMD A-series Gigabyte Cooler Master, custom built about 2 years ago, the speaker system is a few years older. Any advice out there? I'm not one for opening the casing to check the sound card, as I wouldn't know what to look for. Is it time for a new speaker system or do I need to have someone look at my soundcard?

If you have sound from your headphone socket on your computer your sound card is working, so I think it is your equipment that you are plugging into the computer that is faulty.
The light on the speaker system only shows there is power coming out of it's power supply, this does not show faults elsewhere.
Check all of your cables for signs of damage, if none found it is more than likely a circuit fault inside your external speaker system,,, not really worth repairing, cheaper to buy some more.
