Creative a500 speakers

Hiya, My boyfriend bought these speakers not to long ago and they worked fine then when i unpluged one of them to put the lable on as to which was left back, left, right back, righ, and center it suddenly stopped working and now only certain songs play through certain speakers what could be causing this? all sound settings are set to 5.1 setting i really cant work out what the problem is any help would be great

the a500 have a 5.1 input i think and if this is true try checking the connections from the back of the subwoofer to the pc`s sound card or pc`s sound connections. it will proberlly be a 3.5mm jack and moast af the computers are colour coded.

Yeh he has had problems with his sound before as one of the connections dont work properly could it be due to this?

Sounds like a dodgy connection to me. Just waggle the connections about a bit while playing a tune, you may well find it brings both channels on at once. I suspect the reason it changes with songs is not that it likes one song or another LOL... its just randomly making/not making connections correctly all the time.
