Windows Live Mail 2011 Settings

Hi all, Can someone tell me how I stop messages being automatically opened in WLM2011. I would prefer for messages to only open when I click on them.At present if I 'delete' a message the following one opens automatically. Any guidance much appreciated.

That can only happen if you've got the preview pane (a.k.a. 'reading pane') enabled. (For security reasons, you shouldn't have!).

Follow the instructions here to remove the tick alongside 'Show reading pane':

Thank you for your reply, although my 'version' of WLM looks different to that in the link, ie no menu box, I located the preview pane box and turned it off.Once again you have come up trumps, thanks again, P
