I bought a used iPod Touch 4th generation which I later found still had previous owner's details left on. Instead of doing a restore to factory settings immediately, I put in my own Apple ID etc. When I tried a restore it wanted a passcode. Contacted previous owner who said she'd never had a passcode on it. Anyway, I put the iPod in DFU mode and set it to restore and update to next ios. However, it's taking 21 hours to do! Is this right? It's now got 15 hours remaining and has done 254.6 of 847.8 MB to go.

Thanks for any help.

Not sure if you can do anything but wait. I too bought a second hand iPod 4th gen but I made sure it was reset before I purchased it off ebay. It is all to do with fraud with Apple devices.

I actually went to the person's house to get the iPod, assumed they'd reset it. I'm still faffing with it, but am leaving it on tonight to see if it completes the reset.

Thank you for your answer.
