I did some updates a couple of days ago, which have left a picture of a disc on the bottom right of the screen (not in the bar at the bottom, sorry but I don't know the correct terminology), but on the actual screen. It's says Data Disc on the top of the picture, + Cyberlink on the bottom, + some numbers 0.02/4.38GB.
It's about 2"x1"
Now I do have Cyberlink, but haven't actually used it yet on this laptop.

Thanks in advance + anticipation.
Oh, nearly forgot....Chrome ;)

No, you won't. If you want to use the program again it will work fine. You haven't deleted anything, just stopped it running for now.
Now you have found task manager, open it again and click on the 'start up' tab, this tells you all the programs that start automatically whenever you boot up.
If you see anything there relating to Cyberlink, click it and then click 'disable' otherwise you may have the same problem next time you boot up the pc.
eek!...wish my printer was working so I don't have to write all these instructions by hand, lol :D That's actually the next job I've got sceduled for today,...to introduce my wireless printer to lappy...I managed it when it was new, but In had to do a restore factory settings a week or two ago (don't ask, lol), so I lost the printer.
Ok, will go back into task manager.......
Eh, Wha?....I've no idea what you mean by alongside, but not to worry.
I've been back in, + can't see anything more related to Cyberlink or Power To Go. There's a hell of a lot of stuff there I'm clueless about..., like Bonjour Service, Andrea Filters, Adaptive Sleep Service....what's that all about then?
Bonjour service is related to your printer; Andrea is for your microphone; Adaptive Sleep controls the 'sleep' function of your pc when you are not using it.
Don't touch ANYTHING you are unsure of but if you see anything in there that you do recognise but don't need to start up on boot (such as Skype, printer, programs that you don't use all the time) click on them and disable.
Your boot up time will be much faster if it's not starting a load of unnecessary programs.
Thanks soooo much hc, I'm extremely grateful for all your help...(and patience, lol) :)
Now then,.....are you going to be around for the next hour or so?.......;)
