Is Anyone Installing Windows 10 Today?
From today, July 29th, Microsoft is giving a free Windows 10 upgrade to users of Windows 7 and 8. This offer is open for 12 months.
Windows 10 gets great reviews, but so did Vista and Win 8, both of which are now widely agreed to be dogs.
I've got Win 7 Ultimate, which isn't bad, so will wait and see for a while.
Mrs V has Win 8, so I'm going to upgrade in a few weeks after checking initial reactions - nothing can be worse than Win 8!
What are other Abers doing.
What are you doing Ab Editor , on your little concrete computer?

He said the computer version has not had that many glitches but the windows phone version has been a nightmare on some of the updates.

I reserved 10 when offered a few months ago. I received an email last week saying - 'After July 29, when Windows 10 is ready for your device, it will download in the background. You’ll then get a notification to schedule your upgrade right away or at another time that’s convenient for you'.
You need to reserve one to start the process and it is available to download free for the initial period and up to 12 months after. From then on there will be a fee to purchase it.

I'm on Windows 7 and have reserved W10. Will wait for about 3 months before I choose whether to upgrade.
I'm quite happy with W7.
Windows XP was superseded by Windows Vista in Jan 2007. It is now longer updated and is virtually 'dead in the water' and will slowly fail with bits failing to work with current uses, especially with security online.
Why am I taking so long to decide? Because W8 was supposed the all dancing and super capable replacement for Windows Vista until it was discovered it had two left feet!
