I Need An Antivirus For Tablet £100 Scam Froze It And I Had To Reset It

I was browsing the web on my ipad this afternoon and all of a sudden this thing came up saying Police i have been looking at illegal content which I hasten to add I wasnt and it told me to pay £100 in vouchers where I could get from some supermarkets the only way I could get rid of it was to restore my ipad to factory settings losing all my photos and music well ***d off I need a free anti virus on my ipad to prevent this happening again.

There is normally no need to reset your iPad Go to Settings and Clear Cookies and Data. This will prevent Safari from trying to open that page and will solve the problem. No other measures should necessary

What you had was not a virus so an anti virus product would probably not find it and fix it.

p.s. Does not Apple automatically upload all your photos and documents to the icloud for safe keeping?

Yes there is no virus aimed at the iPad you don't need anti virus

Have you not backed up your iPad to a PC through iTunes

I have had that come up on my lap top. I just turn the power off and take out the battery, then put it back again , that has always got rid of it so far.

There's a very good free anti-virus from AVG at: free.avg.com I've used it for years with no problems
