Have tried this several times over.  The problem appears to be with installing the QWuick time component (that is now bundled into Itunes) - has anybody else had this problem, or can help?

I always had similar trouble on my old laptop when I tried the recommended upgrades which come from time to time.As you say the problem is with QuickTime. I found that I had to uninstall Quicktime first and then install iTunes all over again. It doesn't happen on my new machine so perhaps newer machines cope with the problem.
