I dont mean Ebay or others similar.

After watching many on TV, I wouldn't mind having a go for a bit of fun.

Yep, sold things recently, three auction houses including Bonhams. Have bought in the past too. Know your budget and stick to it - or think of a reasonable price and add 10% contingency and stick to it. Don't forget sellers and buyers fees which are liable to VAT - and are creeping up it seems.
Most I ever tried was Bid Up and Price Drop auctions (if I've recalled the names correctly) but they've gone to the wall long since.
I regularly bid for items using "the saleroom". I love their live auction feeds.
I've used them and many companies put their feed through them - for example David Lay down here, always interesting for paintings.....

I've never used them, but they regularly (weekly?) send me details of current auctions.

Thanks folks, will have a look into them.

Do they have viewing days before the auction, & post and packaging for you, with a charge of course.?
It depends on the auction house....with Bonhams everything is catalogued and photographed....with Lay for example it is only about 15% of lots, Jefferys (Lostiwthiel) even less.
