Koran Burning
Cant find an online link but just watching Midlands Today news.
Its reporting that a man has been arrested on suspicion of hate crime after posting a vid to Facebook of himself burning a copy of the Koran.
But why don't we hear of muslims getting arrested for burning copies of The Satanic Verses, or burning poppies or burning UK flags?
Arnt these hate crimes too?
Ive had many muslim aquantences over the years and havnt got a bad word to say about any of them, but this one sided policing isn't doing anything to help race relations.

A flag,Uk or any other , or a poppy are also not 'sacred religious texts'. So burning them is not 'blasphemy'.
I don't agree with flag or poppy burning nalit, just pointing out why it is not a hate crime.

I have no objection whatsoever to people burning copies of the Q'ran. (Indeed, during the Bible-burning parties I used to help organise, I've tossed a good many copies of the Q'ran and other religious texts into the flames as well).
However, to answer the actual question here, "causing offence" isn't a crime, whereas "inciting racial hatred" (which is what the police say they're investigating) is.

This brings me to a point I have made previously.
I have never had a satisfactory explaination from a Muslim as to why if Satan was once able to fool Mohammed into thinking he was Allah and dictate the 'Satanic Verses' what garantee is there that it only happened that one time?
(As we know the basis for the Quran being sacred is that it was personally dictated to Mohammed by Allah himself!)

At times, I get a bit crazy and do off the cuff things (especially after a bottle of vodka) Ive really got it in my head to do what Buenchico has mentioned and burn a few copies of the Bible and a few copies of the Koran (might throw in a few copies of Das Kapital as well, just for fun)
and post it on Fakebook. Would be interested to see exactly who would report me and see what the prosecution in court would have to say....
