I recently uninstalled itunes & all its components via control panel . However when I try to to reinstall it it just says 'the installer encountered problems...'
I've tried to use a restore point but that doesnt work.
Any help please.

I think I would try again but be sure to right click and choose "run as administrato r" before you launch the install. One or two different solutions with the link below. Also apple help are pretty good. https:// discussions. apple. com/ thread/ 7151903? start= 30& amp; tstart= 0

Have you tried re-downloading from the Apple site?
I tried to update my version of iTunes using Apple software update and hit issues which I think were partly to do with our internet connection. A manual download and install should work.
I loathe iTunes - bloated, complicated to use (and ridiculously named). The stock response from Apple to anything is "have you updated iTunes?" which would not normally be an issue if it was actually straightforward to do most of the time.

Some ideas here

I wonder if the registry solution might be the one to try, given you already had a version you uninstalled.
I got mine to work by going to the folder where iTunes downloaded and running the .msi file manually.
