Is it necessary to spend this money, just to keep troublesome youngsters away from the carnival.

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2017/aug/22/at-risk-london-youths-sent-on-20000-trip-over-carnival-weekend

All this and more than 300 arrests have been made since 11 August.

Why not just ban this troublesome carnival once and for all?

The carnival isn't troublesome. Criminals are... wherever they choose to do it.

You have got a good point there pixie, but since the carnival in this instance is the 'homey pot' that attracts them, then perhaps the 'honey pot' needs to be removed.

Yes I know the majority may suffer but then that is generally how it is.

What's your take on them providing a much sweeter 'honey pot' to attract the younger trouble makers away?
I wouldn't... just be sure to arrest anyone causing trouble there.

Away to where?

Someone else's stomping ground?
Do you have an age range of those arrested last year and the year before please?
No I would not cancel it anymore than I would cancel the New Years Eve celebrations on the streets of London.
is it crimeathon time again?
yes a disappointment AOG
no dainty refutations of those scantily sclad young ladies putting their all into - well near AOG
and shimmying whilst loud boogie-woogie fills the streets
gyrating and swinging ......

where and when did you say this was ?

(I will use the information for research purposes only)
Why does it cost £1000 each for a watersports weekend?

Not sure banning it would work, probably cause more troubles and it would undoubtedly be hijacked by the Militant let for rioting and looting protests.

Isleay, last time I looked New years celebrations didnt attract Gangs in the same way this carnival does.

Cheers AOG: always the first sign of autumn, this thread :-)
Of course they should ban it - and ban New Year's Eve, and race meetings, and football matches, and people going out at weekends - they all cause trouble, so if trouble is the reason to ban them, why stop with Notting Hill?
I refer the Gentleman to my answers in previous years.
i guess any major carnival will attract a criminal element, seems a lot of black ethnics make up a large proportion of that criminal element makes one wonder why, is it because it's held in london where their is a large black population, or is it because certain blacks are more criminal than others, who just want to have a good time, and those who set up great pitches selling again great food, i think on the whole considering how big the carnival is, it's a great success.
