Need Repair Pst

hi all

decided to clean up the mail databases and got this error: "Outlookmain.pst can not be accessed - 0x80040116", I have never come across such a thing ? searched for solutions in various forums, did not find a solution

Doesn't your e-mail client have a repair option in the menus ? Sounds like it could be corruption.

Otherwise I'd copy the file to another name and try to add it as a new data file to the data files your client looks at. Might be worth a try.

Ummm... you have tried turning the PC off then back on again ?

This website periodically gets posts from new members who're seeking solutions to damaged pst, dbx or similar files. They seem to be invariably followed by posts from other new members, recommending specific software. (i.e. they're poorly disguised spam). I must have seen around a hundred such spamming attempts (and not one single genuine question about such issues). So this thread is regarded as 'highly suspect'. Since the OST is only a cache there is no way to reimport this back into the serverside mailbox directly.
The only solution i know of is to Convert the OST to a PST file, and then reimport the mail from that.

given that the ost is a cache and replicates server activity, emails deleted from the server, may have also been deleted from the ost itself.
