Help Needed With A San Disk Usb Stick
1 Answers
Hi
Hoping someone can help with this question. I have a Sandisk USB stick version 2.0.
Yesterday, upon plugging the stick into the computer, the Sandisk seemingly wanted to do some sort of update, it then asked me to create a password and welcomed me as if I was a new user.
All of my files saved to my USB stick have now vanished from the 'San Disk Secure Access V2 application'. However, there is another icon I am able to click into which is the 'San Disk Secure Access Vault' where all of the files appear listed as DAT files.
I have tried so many ways to open the DAT files, such as finding an application on the desktop to open the DAT files with. I have also tried copying the DAT files back into the ''San Disk Secure Access V2 application' in the hope they magically convert back into the proper format. Nothing has worked.
I have been across many forums, where other users seem to have experienced similar problems, where files just vanish, but the DAT files are still visible. I tried one method which suggested renaming a folder in 'system files' to 'vault.idx' but this also has not worked.
Please can anyone advise if there is a process to convert the DAT files back to the original file formats? Because it seems to be the core files are still there, but I just know how to get them out of this DAT format.
Thanks

When USB drives go it tends to be a period of trying anything and everything randomly until one gives up. But you never know your luck. (It's good to regularly back up, but how many of us can be bothered. Need an app to regularly do so automatically in the background.)
