Dvd Won’t Work

Panasonic DVD player, DVD goes into machine but nothing happens. It is recording and playing back TV programmes fine, but not a DVD.. Both on HDM1. Whatever that means!! And switched off and on again. Worked fine last night, I just think I have pressed a wrong button somewhere.

I have a Panasonic DVD recorder...have you tried the "Drive Select" button at the top of the remote?
(let's hope that the laser that reads the DVDs hasn't failed!)

What is the model number of the player? Am I right in thinking that "recording and playing back" is not using a re-writable DVD, but some other functionality such as a hard drive?

Mine records to both a hard-drive or DVD...hence the "drive select" that I mentioned.

The DVDs I am trying to watch are films. I think I did try Drive Select, I tried lots of different buttons… but I will try again in daylight tomorrow. Thanks again all…. For now!
