oops sorry, after windows is supposed to say "current version" Then explorer. you access all of this by going to start, run, type in "regedit". be very careful here, you could do alot of damage doing something wrong.
I tried the solution you suggested. I can paste the value in as a new key, as you suggested, but nothing happens. If I reboot the change has been removed from the registry. Any ideas please? I'm using Windows XP Pro, SP2 if that makes any difference?
Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace
Hold the mouse on NameSpace and right-click once. From the resulting menu, select Edit>> New>> Key
Copy and Paste the following Key code (including the brackets):
{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}
If that doesnt work try this
Right-click an empty area of your desktop
Select Properties
Click the Desktop tab
Click the Customize button
Click Restore Default
Exit all windows and restart your computer
