ive got a casio eexilim EX-Z55 digital camera that worked fine with my sisters 256mb memory card which she recently took back. I bought a kingston technologies sd 512mb card to replace it only now when i plug the camera in through usb my computer if the memory card is in the camera no pictures are detected, if the memory card is removed tho the laptop does detect the pictures stored on the cameras own inbuilt memory.

Anyone know why this is happening and how i can solve the problem?

Also does anyone know how to copy pictures from the memory card to the cameras own memory as this would half solve the problem for me

Hi, My suggestion would be to "format" the 512 memory card after inserting it into the camera. Then transfer your pictures from your computer to the reformated card in the camera.

As I have said only a suggestion, you wont cause any damage to either the card or camera.
The camera won't have much built-in memory. I have the Z750, which I think has 16MB of internal memory. This would store about 3 of my images at full-res.

I'd also suggest formatting the card (you'll lose any pictures of it). It should be the first thing you do if you get a new card. Format it when it's in the camera itself -- there's a function to do this in the setup menu somewhere.

Also, I'd suggest buying a cheap card reader. This plugs into a USB port on your computer, and you plug the card itself into it. This means you can transfer the pictures usually faster than by plugging the camera itself in, and it also means your camera doesn't need to be switched on to use it.
