Hotmail?

i have an e-mail account with MSN hotmail. ican sign in to msn messenger ok but when i try to read my e-mails via the messenger page it asks me to sign in again on the msn hotmail page. when i do this i just get an egg timer and it wont let me in.
if i go direct to msn.com then click on hotmail and then sign in the same thing happens.
it says i've got 7 e-mails but i can't get to them.
can anybody help?
i'm not very computer literate so can any answer be in plain english please!!

hey cameo.... yes the same thing has happened to me too.but if you type your email address and password in sometimes you get a box saying remember password and username if you click "yes" you will go in. and for the egg timer thing. normally their is a "close" thing in one of the corner? if you cannot find anything. borrow someone's address and email hotmail about this problem and they should give instruction in what to do...

Thanks matty34 - just tried that - clicked the sign in box and nothing happened.
just checked while writing this and still nothing.
it's really frustrating, i know the e-mails are proberly junk but it's killing me not knowing!!!
Aaaaaagh!!!
