uninstalling programs

I have a few little progs I want to get rid of, but when I try and uninstall them (using control panel, add or remove programs) it just tries to INSTALL them, then stops.
Is there another way of doing this?

go to start, programs, point to the program name and in the sub menu see if the uninstall option is there.

or use a 3rd party uninstaller. maybe http://www.ursoftware.com/

I find that some programs are opened as soon as you 'boot up' and therefor can't be uninstalled while runnung. Close your PC then open in 'safe mode' you can then delete what you like. Remerber to restart in normal mode.
