Laptop turned sideways

The screen on my laptop has turned sideways and if I go to display options and turn it around it just turns back again when I turn it on. How can I sort this out? Please help

Type sideways into the search the site at the bottom of topics. Someone had this problem with their desktop. See if this helps till someone else answers.

When? Do i click on the desktop first?

You should be able to use Ctrl + Alt + the arrow keys at any time whether or not you click the desktop or not.
