I am on Telewest - the same as NTL - and have used a Linksys router for the past 18 months.

Easy to set up, secure and use - the range is excellent. Here is an example:

cheers Ethel. is that all i need? it says i need another cable. I am looking for summat easy to set up and everything included
The only cable you need is an ethernet cable - to configure the router to your laptop.

I can't remember if it's included in the router - I can't remember buying one.

It is very easy to set up PROVIDED you follow the instructions exactly.

Linksys provides a 'netset assistant' that makes it easy.

I can honestly say that I change my router settings every two months (I am a security conscious freak) and have had no problems wither with configuration or loss of signal strength.

My router is in the loft, I can connect everywhere in the house and at the bottom of the garden.

And I am a total techie numptie.
